Corpus Christi Processions around the Country

Through the wonders of social networking I have been invited to two Corpus Christi Processions this year, neither of which I will be able to attend due to the slight issue with Distance.

In Brisbane, the newly installed Archbishop will lead the procession.

All the details can be found here.

The other is planned for Sydney, and has been running for a number of years now.  The Walk with Christ shuts down the major city streets and involves the various groups and movements, the seminary and is led by the Bishops.  Cardinal Pell will be giving benediction from the steps of St Mary’s Cathedral at the conclusion of the procession.

All the details for the Walk with Christ can be found on their Facebook page here.

Here is a sneak peak at what can be expected.

What a great way for these two cities to to start the year for Grace, by gathering around our Eucharistic lord.

There is no doubt that a flood of graces will descend upon your family and the world if more souls would become docile pupils of adoration – Blessed Pope John XXIII

For those of you who missed it, here was a similar event held by the Seminary in Victoria a couple of years ago as part of their patronal Feast and the Year for Priests.

iPads and the Liturgy

The Bishops of New Zealand have released a statement about the use of iPads in the Liturgy.

With the publication of the Roman Missal has come the release of a number of Missal applications for the iPad and other tablets, for mobile phones and e-readers.

While these application are excellent for study purposes, the iPad (and its equivalents), e-readers and mobile phones may not be used by the priest at liturgy.

Over at BOACP Fr John Corrigan has a post on this topic, go over there and make a comment.

Fr Z also has picked up the story here.
